WHAT?
The Coal Mine Cruiser Classic (CMCC) is an off-road event hosted by the Gotham City Land Cruisers, LLC (GCLC). This annual gathering originated in 1999 and helped to get the GCLC off the ground. The event, despite its name, is not limited to Land Cruisers or even to Toyotas. Past events have included a diverse line-up of makes and models of four wheel drive vehicles and we expect this year will be no different. In its first year CMCC hosted less than 20 vehicles. Since then it has become one of the biggest club-organized gatherings on the East Coast. Recent events have seen over 70 vehicles with 120 plus participants. The event has always been family oriented and many folks bring their entire family along.

WHEN?
This three-day event, filled with four wheeling for every skill level, will be
held July 10-12, 2008. It'll be three days that you won't soon forget.
WHERE?
CMCC 08 will be held at
Rausch Creek Off-road Park,
the premier off-road park of the North East, located in the heart of the central PA coal district,
featuring over 1,700 acres of widely varied terrain offering everything from rugged dirt roads to
extreme hardcore rock gardens.
Rausch Creek has trails of all difficulty levels to accommodate drivers
and vehicles of all levels from beginner through intermediate to hardcore.
Obstacles you can expect to encounter at Rausch Creek include hill climbs, mud holes, off camber
trails, and some of the most intense rock crawling offered on the East Coast.
Be sure to have a look at out Trail Ride Safety and Equipment Checklist. All
vehicles will be instpected before hitting the trails.

just a few minutes drive from Rausch Creek. There are all levels of camping at Echo Valley, from primitive
to RV or cabin with showers, bathrooms, swimming, and electrical hookups. There is a new shower house at
the pavilion area with 4 stalls for men and 2 for women.

That applies whether you are staying at the campground or not.

The Saturday night barbeque/raffle takes place at Echo Valley.

here.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
At the start of every day vehicles are separated into groups of 8-12 rigs, each based on
trail difficulty. This year, members of the Appalachian Land Cruiser Association have agreed to act
as trail guides for the event. These guys know Rausch Creek very well as it is in their back
yard.
Participants who attend CMCC come from all walks of life and
are some of the nicest people youll ever meet. CMCC has hosted
families from MD, NY, MA, CT, VA, PA, NH, VT, OH, CO, KS and
NJ, and Canada, business executives, NASA scientists;
college students, computer programmers, filmmakers, engineers,
and, we are honored to say, a number of police officers, firefighters
and EMT personel.
With every day's trail ride comes new adventures. If you do encounter an obstacle on the
trail that you are not comfortable with there are often bypasses available. If you think your
first day of trails was too difficult or not difficult enough you can switch to a group
that suits you better. After a long day on the trail it's nice to arrive back in camp to see friendly
faces. You'll spend evenings relaxing. Most folks kick back around the glow of a warm campfire
in the fresh Pennsylvania air exchanging tales (tall and otherwise) of the day's excitement. |
Saturday night is the the awesome catered barbecue at Echo Valley that includes:
Whole Smoked Pig, Hamburgers & Jumbo Hot Dogs, 1/4 Chickens.
It's bigger and better than ever! With everything the event has
to offer we are confident youll enjoy your experience both
on and off the trail.
| |
SEE YOU THERE!
