Trail Ride Safety and Equipment Checklist (Printable version here)

The following is a Safety and Equipment checklist. Check your rig against the list. It is to yours and everyoneís benefit to have a fully functional and properly equipped vehicle. Inspections will be performed at all GCLC sponsored or sanctioned events. Failure to comply with the required standards at the time of the inspection will disqualify you from the run. The GCLC reserves the right to disqualify any truck, driver, or passenger who fails to comply with GCLC safety or conduct standards. So there.

Exhaust System - Must be intact. No open exhaust, excessive noise or excessive smoke.

Service Brakes - Must be able to stall engine when idling in 1st gear (2nd gear in 4-speeds).

Steering - check play in wheel, condition of column and mounting hardware, knuckle arms.

Tires - All tires including spare must have at least 2/32" of tread. Spare must be fully inflated. Air down to max of 15 psi at time of inspection.

Hoses & Lines - water, gas, brake lines. Please do not come to any run with a rig that has excessive leaks. It has a very damaging effect on the environment, and will disqualify you from the run.

Roll Bar - Any open vehicle must have a roll bar firmly attached to vehicle.

Fire Extinguisher - Must show full charge on gauge and/or have seal intact.

If you have a problem driving to the run that causes a required safety item to fail inspection, you will have a chance to make repairs and be re-inspected. All determinations of safety violations are the sole judgment of the GCLC and will be backed by the run committee and the GCLC Board of Directors.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:  

The GCLC is a family oriented group and as several members bring their children to many of our activities, all members are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

No alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, or weapons are allowed at any GCLC trail ride. No person may be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substances that may hinder thinking ability or reaction time. Failure to comply can lead to disqualification for the run, dismissal from the club and forfeiture of all membership monies and privileges.
